Modified Bitumen

Offered in multiple colors to match the existing pitched roof, a torch modified bitumen material for a flat roof is an excellent solution to control water on flat roofs. A White color can be installed to nearly eliminate heat from dropping into the air space below the flat roof.

This type of roofing is an evolution of asphalt roofing. It is made from asphalt and a variety of modifiers. There are several ways of connecting pieces of this material. In a heat application process, the seams are heated to melt the asphalt together and create a seal. There is also a cold-applied adhesive application process and some self-adhesive forms of this system.

SCS SILICONE: This is a high solids, single component low VOC elastomeric coating that provides superior UV resistance and weatherproofing over polyurethane foam, metal, concrete, most single plies, and BUR. It provides an excellent balance of tensile strength and elongation, resulting in long term flexibility and tear resistance. It is very resistant to ponding water.

An excellent choice for protecting existing Torch Modified flat roof systems. Properly applied, the Solar Guard Coating system has a limited warranty of 50 years.

Our approach

• Step 1 No need for a messy tear off. We will repair existing problem areas and also apply new torch modified around existing pipe flashings.
• step 2: properly clean entire roof by sweeping area of loose debris and then power wash to remove loose granules from surface.
• step 3: apply proprietary primer to existing roof surface.
• step 4: apply two coats of Solar Guard to roof surface.
